How to spend a few hours surrounded by nature only a few minutes by car from Il Palmento?
Discover a fascinating ecosystem hidden between the sea and the Alimini lakes

On a nice spring day or a late summer afternoon, it’s worth driving a few miles to reach the Alimini pine woods which stretch from the lakes of the same name to the famous sandy beach, lapped by the crystal clear sea.

The best thing is to lose oneself wandering around the paths, following the many routes that cross this oasis of peace, spared from the noise of the state highway. There are countless opportunities to admire the views and the wild and luxuriant nature which never ceases to astonish – from the myrtle shrubs to the strawberry trees, the ferns and the Mediterranean bush.
The more experienced trekkers can venture into a protected area via a route that borders both lakes. If, however, you are a two-wheels aficionado, many tourist cycle tracks are signposted all over the pine woods.

And if all that wasn’t enough, how about a ride on horseback? Right in the midst of the pine woods is Lucio’s, now legendary, riding school which organizes excursions of the greater Alimini for beginners and experts alike. So, there is something for all tastes and needs, as long as one loves nature and one is ready to re- awaken the explorer inside.
